NEW YORK (AP) Travel restrictions are being imposed on French territory after a massive terrorist attack, but French authorities say they won’t go as far as banning travel from airports.
Travelers must use an international airport when in France, with flights only allowed in some areas, including the city of Lyon and its suburbs.
The restrictions, which are meant to prevent a repeat of the Paris attacks, were announced Friday.
The authorities said some people are not allowed to go outside France, but officials say those rules are strictly enforced.
The attacks, claimed by Islamic State, claimed the lives of 129 people and wounded more than 500.
France has struggled with a wave of Islamic extremism and terrorism since the attacks in 2015, and there have been multiple terror attacks in France since last year.
